I can only imagine what his/her children are like right now, or will be in the future.

Right now, I can imagine them 100% Sheltered from the outside world. No TV, too much violence, sex, and immorality. No internet except "Disney.com" or "Barney.org."

Later I can imagine them ending up in some public school after being home-schooled for 10 years and they turn into gang-banging, drug-using, sociopath losers. Either that, or over-trusting, easy to take advantage of, and gullable.

I've seen it happen both ways and it's pretty sad. Most of the "normal" people I know were raised by moderate parents who knew when enough was enough but didn't exactly have a noose around their neck all the time.


He, however does make a point. I honestly could see Terrorists using paintball equipment for urban-combat training. Heck, our military does it too, doesn't it? But the fact of the matter is, terrorists are going to train with whatever they can get their hands on. The argument he makes there is not really an issue.

If anything, I've learned from paintball that a real combat situation would be horrifying.

The first time I played paintball, I was amazed at how quickly I was marked out. How could a paintball gun, with so little range and limited accuracy hit me so quickly? What if that was a real firearm, which have much, much more range and unparallelled accuracy compared to a paintball marker? I was "De-Hollywoodized" the minute I got off the field that day.

This person has some serious paranoia problems and I fear for his/her children. Someone needs to learn how to raise their children.


Wait, I take that back. I have no grounds on which to tell someone how to raise their children. Each child is differant and in this case, he/she may be taking the correct path in raising his/her children. Sheltering to this extent is very extreme, IMO, and I really doubt that this is the best means to solve the situation.
