If money is an issue, go with CRT. If not, get a LCD. One thing to look out for is that some older LCD's, which are still being sold, tend to "bleed" with some 1st person shooters. LCD monitors are nice but the high price doesn't justify me getting one. My current CRT was "bought" from my previous employeer when they went bankrupt. -
Its one of those things that Depends on what you do and what your prioritys are. If you have plenty of space and want a kick as picture a CRT is the way to go as the picture is far sharper. If you are lacking on space or just wanna look cool then LCD is proly for you, especaily now when you can get a good 17" LCD in the 3-450 price range. The big drawback is that the picture tends to be pretty soft. Good luck with your purchase

just remember when pricing things out, that a 15" lcd is the same size as a 17" crt, so the price isnt that bad. 15" on an lcd is actual 15" 17" on crt is usually 15.1 or 15.2", remember that.Zaszczycają waszą ojczyznę

Yeah, that is deff. an issue. I have a nice 17" LCD monitor and i don't get any noticable bleed in it. It's a pretty pricey one, but my dad found a good deal.Originally posted by pbzmag

If gaming isn't a big issue for you, go with what you can afford. LCD's are very nice. I have a few online classes and It makes reading much easier.
If/when you get one, make sure to turn up the resolution pretty high. Everything'll look much sharper/crisp than at lower resolutions.
