did anyone watch the news about those illegal immigrants that died after being left in a locked 18 wheeler trailer? what monster would leave human beings in a locked trailer with no ventilation in Texas heat? I live only 30 minutes away from the place where it happened. What ppl would do just to make a dollar these days...makes me sick.

it's getting media attention since it's the highest death toll (18 people) in a case of smuggling undocumented immigrants along the southern border

Yeah, I read about it in the paper yesterday morning. From what I understand they are going to try and give the driver the death penalty. Though I dont nessecarily like the death penalty, I think it seems fair in a situation like this where a man killed 18 people.

i dont wanna seem like a heartless monster but they shouldnt try to cross our borders illegally. they should just apply for a nice green card and not pay the con men and we wouldnt have this problem.

now im a bit naive on this subject but is it difficult at all to enter or exist this country via legal means rather then hoping the border and things like this happening?

yes but how hard is it even then? fill out some forms etc and your in

No it isn't that easy. there are limits of how many people can come in. So it is more like fill out paper work and wait. Also in order to come in you need to state why your going to be here. To just say I want to come and hope to find a job dosen't cut it.

with all these people go through just to get into the country, start a new from nothing, be insulted, assaulted, scape goated.... it make me wonder is it that they are mistaken or we really are they great of a country or that they are the ones who deserve the land, based on the reasons why our country was set up... and the rest of us slobs need a good long hitch in some asian sweetshop to see how good we really have it... god bless america.

To them this country is heaven compared to everything they have to put up with... Those living right next to the borders of Mexico and the US can truly see what kind of crud these ppl put up with. It's not that simple to just fill out a form and waltz right in and say Hello 99.9% of these ppl just want a job, any kind of job that they can get there hands on and become incredibly desperate that they pay some A-hole good money to just be left in the desert to rot... I live right next door to Mexico and we see this on a daily basis... It's right on our front doors that some of these ppl die... Sure because of them we have a hard time getting a job but will any of you go out and work in the fields from 3am - 5pm? Wearing your Calvin Klein or designer clothes... They are the ones that truly keep this country fed... I'm just rambling... I mean not to insult anyone but next time you go to McDonalds burger King or any Fast food check out the help.... most of them will probably be Hispanic...

you make a good point there.
I always hear ppl complaining how these immigrants(legal or not) are taking our jobs...the funny thing is most of these jobs the we are "losing" are the ones we wouldn't even think about applying for(i.e. strawberry picking, minimum wage stuff). Hell if I owned a business and had to choose b/t a honest hard working immigrant or a lazy person who thinks he's doing me a favor; I'll choose the immigrant.

Oh yeah just heard on the news that the owner of the truck thought he was being hi-jacked so he just left the trailor there...who the hell would believe that?
