windows xp help....

Yeah okay so I've got windows xp on this other hard drive, and I click my log in name and log in, and it shows the desktop for a second then logs back off... It makes me mad!
Spects-
Asus a7v8x Mobo
AMD althon xp 2100
512 stick of ram
Cd/rw drive
floppy
80 gb hda
and a Gforce MX 440 64 mb video card....
if that helps, i can boot into safe mode

Anybody know what to do other than reinstalling winblows again?

On this other drive??? do you mean the D drive...if thats the case then of course XP won't load properly as the root directory assumes you want to boot form C always.

You "can" partition your C drive and have XP on 1 partition and say ME on the other but unless you setup the config to allow a dual boot you will still get issues. Why would you want to have XP and another windows OS on the same machine..XP is a little picky as to what hardware it will work with but as long as your modem and sound and video card are up to date you shouldn't have any problems with XP. Just reinstall XP from scratch and only use that....might be an idea to transfer all your data from the C drive to the D before you do all that though as XP will reconise FAT32 formatted drives to get the data from but after that you will have to go into disk management to reformat the D drive AND set the pc to actually reconise that the D drive is there.

oic, i figured it out... I didnt activate XP...
and i dont have another key.

And i have 2 harddrives, I just connect the one i want to boot up because it wont boot wiht 2 harddrives, kinda weird but, oh well!
