    Any advanced wakeboarders here??

Well, I went out on the lake this past weekend, and was introduced to wakeboarding. Now I can't wait until next weekend so I can go again. (I'd PB but I probably wont have a gun for a long time) Anyway, I'm really interested in buying a board and getting better in this sport.

Anyone have some good tips on what board to buy?
I know Hyperlite is the 'best' brand. I'm around 5'5, about 150 lbs.

I'm looking to spend around 300 max, w/bindings.

    wakeboards

well, i've been wakeboarding for about 5 years now, and with all the new boards and stuff that i have bought, i have found that the best advice is similar to paintball, try it out. different lengths, widths, fins, bindings, composites, just about everything. it is all about what you feel comfortable with on the water. and remember, dont just stick to hyperlight, their stuff is awesome, but there is more than one fish in the sea

Pretty much what Djm said...ask everyone you know what they ride, ask to try their boards, and just find something you are comfortable on. I personally ride a board that everyone claims is way too short for me, but I still show them up on the water.

Oh, and once you start to go for anything big, take some tylenol before you even get to the lake

We got a wakeboard.. very rarely use it though. I can't.. I have leg problems... But it's too hard for the rest of my family. We occasionaly get it out when we're really bored and want to see someone wipe out alot. My cousin managed to just stay up, but when tried to do anything met disaster.

Ive been wakeboarding since the time of the skurfer (if you know what that is, you know its been a few years). Ive been through the hyperlites, the liquid forces, and the o'neils and have tried many other minor and major brands. I HIGHLY recommend riding any board before you buy. if you can, find a CORE board, they are hands down the most incredible board ive EVER ridden (opinion). Do yourself a favor and ride for yourself if your serious about this sport. check out CORE at http://www.coreboards.com you wont be dissapointed!

I ride, and two of my friends are pros. IMO, liquid force makes better boards, but hyperlight has the sick bindings. If you want to drop some cash, check out the scott byerlys. A good board for a beginner your size would be the Liquid Force Rythym. Not too spendy, good pop, and most importantly forgiving.
