You could take frymarker up on her offer and put 2 9volts in there until you could earn the money to buy what you want.

Furthermore, a simple request for help would have been questionable enough - but since there a number "let's help a brother out" follow on posts (that I'm guessing were made by friends of the inital poster) it looks even less legit.

Gotta say something about that... I am not a friend of Pzyco, I don't know him, but i remember what it was like to be young and not have any money... so, what's wrong with us helping him out? If you don't agree with it, no one is making you look at this post, nevermind donate any money.
I understand the precedent it can set, but that's not what we're doing here.

The Frymarker
I just pmed you about the details.
This should be a quick solution for a bit, and as Phil said before just add some 9 volts until you can get a new pack and charger.
Glad to help.
Take careComment

I agree; however, we CAN post our opinions.Originally posted by WARPED1
I agree with JAM on this, you don't have to read, or have to donate.
I think that sending money sends the message that it's appropriate to not deal with a situation in a responsible, mature manner. I've been working since I was 12 years old. I started off caddying and answering phones for my church. I then worked my way up at the golf course and became Assistant Caddiemaster, which I did through college. During the off season (and college), I worked at book stores to try and make enough money to live and go to school. If I needed something, I saved (and it still works that way, even though I'm approaching my fourth decade of life).
I'd like to buy an XMag, but I currently have to pay for rent, utilities, a car, insurance, and numerous other expenses that come with adulthood. I also work in a very unstable industry right now and my company is still in the process of weeding out "expenses." I don't think I would ever feel comfortable enough spending $1300-1500 on a marker, nor would I ever come on the internet asking people to send me money.
I need new brakes and because I drive a German car, they tend to be expensive. Can I have some money? If you send me even more, I can get my A/C recharged, too. I can't do a single thing in return for you, but it'll make me happy because I won't have to save and will get something for nothing.
One of my co-workers was laid off this past Monday (just one of 220 who are scheduled to be laid off this month). He just bought a house last month and is also paying off the car he bought last year. Because he bought a house, he was able to bring his family over from India to provide them with a place to live. Anyone care to send him money? Hell, he'd probably be too proud to take it.
If he's such a poor 15 year old, why is he shooting an EMag anyway? He owns a nicer Mag than I do! I think it's incredibly sad (borderline pathetic) that people are sending money for this and I'd be willing to bet most of you who have don't regularly contribute to legitimate charities. I work hard for my money. You can be sure I will not send it to some teenager who simply lost parts from his marker. I will, however, be more than happy to call a Waaaahmbulance for you.
If he gets "freaked out" because of a lost battery and charger, I wonder how he'll handle a REAL crisis.Originally posted by funkmunky56
Actually, Pzyco came in the chat yesterday, TOTALLY freaked out by what happened...Comment

borrow someone's metal detector. Sorry bro we all have misfortunes like this. Such is life. Well played deathstalker, well played indeed.
Plus it's not like you CAN'T play paintball, the e-mag works without a battery anyway.

wow.....harshness....
I will agree with deathstalker on most of his points, but all the same, when you are 15-16, even if you work, like I do, an $80 loss absolutely sucks. Especially in the way that he lost it.
That said, how bout everyone donates to the "Lethargic is broke, send him some money" Fund.

I have to agree with deathstalker. I work about 15-20 hours a week in 2 part time jobs, and I'm 17 (been working at one of the jobs for over a year, since I was 16). I've saved all my money lately since I haven't really had much to spend it on. I'm glad I've been able to save up, and everything I use paintball wise has been from money I've saved up through my jobs. I bought my Angel, Max Flow, and much more with it from money I had saved at one time or another from the jobs. I've lost things and had them broken, did I come and ask AO for help? No. Now I'm not trying to lecture you or anything, but you must learn to save now or you never will. If you can't save enough money for something as low as $180, what makes you think you'll be able to save for something over $1000 when you're older? Even though you are 15, there's still plenty of ways to find money, like watch dogs, mow lawns, baby-sit, etc. Even many grocery stores or fast food places hire at that age. Even sell things you don't need anymore. That's how I was able to afford markers like an Autococker or Automag when I was 14 or 15. Learn to save, you'll thank yourself later.Silver ULE X Valved Mag

People just pointing out their Skeptical is not flaming. And some people do not consider Paintball to be the meaning of life and as important as needing charity for. I think everyone sympathizes with your situation. However they may disagree with the way you chose to deal with it.
I tell ya what. If you raise the money I will get you the stuff at Dealers cost plus shipping. Just to show you my heart is in the right place but I am not so keen on this method of dealing with your loss. I think that there are better ways to raise the money that are more charicter building and you will deal with many losses through out your life that no one will step in and fix for you. And they will be far greater than this one. And there is always the chance the stuff will be found.
So lets just keep in mind that people not wanting to "Give" you something to help out are both a little skeptical of the situation, a little preturbed by your guilt trip and perhaps somewhat disagree with your methods of dealing with the crisis. It does not make them bad people.
The people that are giving you something are acting out of love and charity and compassion. They realize that they may be taken in but they are willing to take that chance and don't care realy. So they are trusting people and I hope you live up to their trust.Comment
