Digital Cameras and Focusing

I was looking through a thread in the Tech board, and i saw this pic:



Now, I was wondering how I could take my digital camera and focus in on something small and close? Could any of you photo gurus out there give me a hand?

There should be a "Macro " setting for close ups. There is a minimum distance usually.
