could anyone recommend some good 2d shooting games. i have einhander for ps1 and bangai-o for dreamcast, and am going to get ikaruga for gamecube, but other then that what are some other good games?

Download any second generation console emulator (snes, genesis etc.) and you'll have more scrolling shooters than you can wave a gigantic atomic powered stick at. I recommend a game called viewpoint on the NeoGeo.

uhhh..no, actually doom and wolfenstein are 2d, the game engine tricks your mind into thinking its 3 dimensional, when in fact the whole thing is 2d. There are no polygons to be found.Comment

2d = Platform games. Go to DosGames.com for plenty. I recommend Duke Nukum 1-2. Also try Alien Carnage.
