I'm trying to get the idiot stickers off of my bike. I've got the sticker part off, but there is still adhesive left on there. I've tried automotive goo gone and it don't work for crap.

Lighter fluid...the stuff you put in Zippo's works everytime (buy a cheapo brand not the rip off branded Zippo stuff)

I did try the auto goo crap. I tested it on my truck and it didn't work so well. From rubbing vigorously, I now have light surface scratches on my paint.

i use goo-gone to get the dealership stickers and emblems off my car. it works pretty well. just put it on, let it soke in for a few minutes, and then work it off with a razor blade. if possible, you can try to use dental floss to peel the sticker off. just slide a section under the sticker, then work it off.

I've been slowly pealing the stickers off my truck too. I found that using a hairdryer makes the vinly come off real easy, but leaves the adhesive. And I've tried the goo gone on that and it no work so good. I was hoping there was something you could put on and then just whipe off real easy.

Nope.....I used to work at a BMW dealership and when we had to de-badge some of the cars we would use lighter fluid to remove the last of the adhesive and then a final finish with a polish.....you would never have known a badge was there, had to do the same thing with stickers that some customers had applied to their cars before they sold them to us

I use that goo gone (citric acid) all the time at work and it gets any glue off. But you have to use something other than a rag. The plastic dish scrubbers work great and are safe for paint as long as you buff lightly. That's what we us to get old decals off of the cars we lay graphics on. If the glue is really thick and nasty spray some of the stuff on and let it sit for a few minutes. Then spray it on again and try the scrubber.

Maybe I got the wrong stuff. The stuff I got wasn't spray, just liquid.
I'll try both the lighter fluid and the goo gone with a brush.
                      Thanks everybody

I would suggest using a 3M decal remover tool. Ive completely stripped the decals off of Jet Skis and cars and it will not hurt the finish

Heres a link I found, gives you the idea

It does gum up the disks if you have removed the top pf the sticker and are trying to remove just the adhesive. As suggested above, I found lighter fluid to be hte best for removing the adhesive.

i use nail polish remover, but im not too sure if that will harm the finish, it works for me though.
