Yes, I have heard lots of harcore actually. It was originally emotional harcore, but over time has evolved into it's own genre. Hence it is known as emo and no one really knows the connection to hardcore. Keep in mind, hardcore has also changed over the years (to the point where it sounds different from when emo split from hardcore).
