I burned myself... some advice...

I was bored as heck so I got my lighter and went outside and started finding stuff to burn(ya immature, but what can I say? boredom got to me...) Well I lit a pen on fire and then a couple drops of molten plastic got on my finger and hand, and ran and put some ice on it, then i tried to pick of the plastic and when I did, it was like i was peeling off my skin more than the plastic, but it didn't hurt that bad, but now i have like a blister with a deep hole in the middle from where i picked off the plastic, and it hurts like hell, I put burn ointment and a band-aid on, I don't want to tell my mom because she will yell at me, and tell my dad and he will laugh at me. So do you guys think its realy that serious that I have to tell them about it? Its just about a 3/4th an inch long, and the hole looks about the size of a ball point pen tip and about 3mm deep.

well i just dont want it to get infected or anything, and its not that it hurts, but its just kinda weird having a hole like that and it not bleed. or even look red...

it's probably a second degree burn, if it is, most second degree don't require medical attention, so just keep ointment on it. http://my.webmd.com/content/healthwise/16/3938

The reason it didn't bleed was because the heat quarterized(sp?) it. That could be why it dosn't look red either.(if you didn't already know that

just keep it covered(with a bandaid or soemthing) and use antibiotical stuff on it, it wil be fine.

If it starts really hurting or not really healing, tell your parents. Better safe than sorry. If your really that worried about telling them, just tell them you were making macarroni or something and burnt yourself. Or just tell them the truth.

keep a thin layer of neosporin on it for a few days and keep it covered. after three or four days use the bandage only so that the wound can dry out. if there are any intact blisters DO NOT break them, the inside of the blister is sterile and keeping it intact will reduce your chance of infection to almost none. if it starts to get red, swell, or if there is any purilant discharge (puss) then you need to see a doctor or go to your local minor emergency clinic. good luck!

i reached in the ver to get some pizza and skimmed the top of my arm on the rack now i have a whole in my arm 4mm deep and 1 inch wide and its not helling i think i have like 3rd degree burn but oh well

No it doesn't. I did that to myself about 7 years ago, and all i have now is what looks like a faded "A"
