Worst injury?

i broke my neck 2 weeks ago. I fractured the c1 vertabra and the c3 vertabra and there is a chip in c2. Ive got no premanent damage, so im just about as lucky as it gets. I did it mountain biking. prior to that ive never had any surgery, broken anything, or even ever been in a hospital (other than to get born ) Soo, anyway, i was wondering whats the worst injury anybody has had? and hopefully, youve recovered fully.....

i have a very high pain tolercnce due to:

>8 broked bones total
>multiple DEEP lacerations (i never go in for stiches too lazy...just slap on some super glue )
>4 concussions
>factured skull
>knocked out 2 front teef lol

fun stuff...the skull was probably the worst

i broke my arm 2 places thats not half as bad but its still messed up today thats why im pretty screwed in sports and ne thing else, so i stick to paintball

o btw i forgot to mention 1st and 2nd degree burns on my arm

I forgot what it was exactly, but my front tooth had some inflamation that was pushing on the tooth's nerve directly.

This pain lasted one week.

Worst pain EVER. The two days it was most severe I got an hour of sleep after trying some Nyquil to knock me out, didn't work well.

dude...that sounds pretty horrific

I only broke a pinky(my exgirlfriend did that to me) and a couple dislocated fingers which look pretty nasty and were somewhat painful.

I have sleep apnea and they want me to have surgery to remove my tonsils and adenoids and fix my nose which I forgot I broke when I was a kid playing hockey. This all sounds scary to me.

I had a heavily inflamed knee last fall/this spring that had to get drained just before spring break. It still hurts occasionally, and I can't run very well, but hey, atlease it isn't purple.

that sucks. Girlfriend breaking fingers. I dont wanna laugh because it sucks, but that is kinda funny. And zhivago, dont worry ill be back to play up front next to ya. just not this season

Im sorry about your accident.

Ive never broken anything.

One time, after I gained the extra weight. I rode my mountain bike down 30 steps. Youd think Id get hurt but I did'nt.

Always previsualize what your going to do. When I did the steps I stood up and leaned back. I rotated my pedals back so they were even.

Id say the key is to know what your limits are but we always have to push the limits.

Now that Im 33 I could never do steps like that again. rode the same mountain bike 7 miles on friday. Got a flat tire after 1 mile. Had to change it and cut/pierced my thumbnail changing the tire. I thought about it. My nails are thicker than ever but I was rushing to change the tire. When I pulled the rim I cut my nail but its growing out.

One time I cut my leg. Probably needed stichs. Cut my hands too but I just never got stichs. Always afraid when I might need 4 or 5. If I ever had a big gash or got a big gash Id be sitting in the emergencey room.


Get well soon! Those fractures should heal. You might have to have the chip removed if it doesnt heal or absorb..

I like barely cracked my arm when I was like 5... my older bro did that.

Than I crushed my arm after tripping inside a building at www.urbanpaintballpark.com It was a pretty nasty fall actually... salmmed against the wall than a fake chair than the floor...

Eh... when I was in like 3rd grade I was on the pullup bars doing a swinging thing, and I fell off and landed on my neck... think I screwed up something but It hurt to move my neck for 2 weeks. Than I did it again in 4th grade... and 5th... I seriously never learn

My brother and I were racing bikes one time, too stupid to wear helmets, he takes off ahead of me and wipes out of control, hits one of those big generator thingys I dunno what they are, and slams his head against the concrete. My parents are just down the road talking to some nieghbors, I take off riding to get down to them. they ride up and he says he thought it was raining blood when really he had cut his head about an inch above his eye. Drove to the hospital got a few stitchs, he was aight.

Oh yah another one... when I was 5... spinning around in the curtains of one of those sliding doors with the bars on teh bottom. I get tangeld and fall with all my weight (like 60 pounds) and slam my knee against it... blood gushing out, I was screaming and I ran as fast as I could up stairs too my mom. Crazy

On my bike abotu 2 years ago, just riding along on a wet rainy day with lots of leafs on the trail. (smart enough to use a helmet) I come around a corner pretty fast... I spin out, do like a 360 than come flying off my bike and slam the back of my head against the concrete... Had no clue what happened... but my helmet had a huge dent in teh back. /me pets helmet

Playing that canadian game omnikin... threw out my arm... tried to hit it with one arm, thought I broke it. It was numb and I couldn't move it. Scary but Nothing bad.

Riding my bike recently prolly in march. riding home from school see my friends on the left side of me... and I'm used to giving high-fives with my right arm, so I reach over (they on my left side) and my left arm pushes forward spinning my bike out, land on my *** scrape up my arms... too damn lazy to get outta the street so I start a big traffic jam... quite funny actually... riding home that day... sucked. But hey that day ended in a good way, I got a 250 dollar money order and went to my local store, bought an evil pipe, got new macro fittings for my cocker, and a case of paint... and a tank fill.

i've broken my nose 5 times. but thats it. damn soccer players and getting hit in the face. my nose is reallllyyyyy messed up.

i remember when miscue broke his leg in half. there are some good x-ray pics of that floatin around the forums.....someone get him to post em up if he still has em!

Nothin much here, I fell off a scooter on concrete and had to pick the pieces of asphault out of the wound, but thats nothin compared to the injuries you guys have had.

I've broken my pinky in half, broke a toe in half, broke my knuckle, fractured middle finger, had gravel removed from my knee, torn quad/broke femur, and had some neck injury when I dived in a shallow pool.
