I think it would be a great thing for the forums, so it will keep the friendly forum friendly and keep the main forum's atsmosphere good. There is one at the BEOG and it is great and hardly any flames on the main forums. What do you guys think?

Since flames are not allowed here, and we mods are pretty quick to head any off anyway, having a flame forum would be a moot point.
Besides, it was deemed long ago, even before AGD, that a flame forum would not be a good thing at all.

think of it like this...
are you tired of reading people's complaints about companys doing things and bad deals that don't go through, and how people piss them off? The mods don't delete those, the only flames they delete are flames against mags. So I think that there should be a flames and gripes forums to keep the main forums and the friendly corner friendly.You smell like dookie... No really though.Comment

Primarily we are concerned with flames directed towards AO Members. We really like the friendly atmosphere here, and want you guys to enjoy this forum and not have to deal with the kinda crap present in other forums.
If you've paid attention, you would notice that there are certain kinds of 'flames' that we leave, particularly those directed towards AGD. We can very EASILY delete these... but we do not to show you that we have nothing to hide. I think that counts for something... integrity.
Oh, and there will NEVER be a Flames Forum on AO, unless Webby or someone suddenly goes outta their minds.

I could list reasons why NOT to have a Flames Forum all day long... but can not find one valid reason to HAVE one. Sorry.

I can see your points of view, but it just would not work. And you will have to trust me and the others on it. Ever try to pull in a Rottweiler after you let it have a good 10 foot start? But if you keep the leash short, it is pretty easy. And having the leash short does not really hamper the dog's ability to do anything does it? It can still walk, sniff, pee, bark, etc. It just does not get out of control.

There is no point. It's just going to get people pissed and then they will never want to come back. I BPS, I see your point...but that is more like a personal opinion. Having a flames forum is like having a room in your school where, if you get mad or don't like someone, you challenge them to a verbal or physical fight. No need for a flames forum, we are fine as we are.

Flames, even when contained to a single forum can effect the attitude of all the forums. The only things that can come from a flames forum are negative.

I don't see any way that thoses flames wouldn't spill over into the rest of the forums. Flames are always bad. You are allowed to complain about things but there is a difference. I've seen plenty of negative threads/comments about AGD products. They don't get deleted unless they turn into flames. I like the forum the way it is. No need to lower the bar."Relax. Don't worry.
