Well consedering that their are thousands of people playing in a server at one time, their is not much lag, I really dont mind paying 13 dollars a month.

$13 a month is less than $.50 a day for a month. You can find that just walking around.

I lag pretty bad EDIT: if I play with like 30+ people, but I don't meet the recommended specs. I can play very easily on small unpopulated continents in Emerald.

I also play at my dads on 56k, its laggy sometimes but overall not bad. If you have 56k I wouldn't worry aout lag to much. Maybe just play on a less populated server.

Do you know what FPS you are getting?

Also try and find out what your DL speed is for like music and stuff.

Emerald lags. Pure and simple. It's serverside and there a literally hundreds and hundreds of people who can't even play on there due to lag issues.

I watched a reaver pound the living hell out of a spot I'd left 2-3 minutes ago, and figured some poor sucker was following my path to the backdoor of a base.

As soon as he stopped shooting I died. I was about a hundred meters from the spot.

I checked the kill log and sent him a tell asking him where he was seeing me.

He said you were just standing there behind the tree not moving.

I had been scouting the back door in that spot, but to him I was still there.

That my friends is lag.

I'll say it again, I love PS. I play WAAAAAAY too much of it.

But it has serious issues on their end.

This is the system I'm running both it and SWG beta on:

2.4 Athlon
1.5g pc2700 DDR
ATI Radeon 9800.
Soundblaster Audigy 2

it's well beyond the specs for the game and I get horrible lag on emerald.

People that went through beta, are pissed off that there was a LOT of promised content at launch and there isn't ANY of it being delivered.

The next few weeks are supposed to have some new vehicles arriving. Just in time for the first big bunch of "free months" to run out.

Sony needs to wise up or there's going to be a huge drop on the 21st of this month.

And that's a shame because those huge battles are unreal.

I really dont know why I am having no problems with emerald, but when PS get installed on my new comp, I will have a character for every US East Server.

Yes SOE has to fix somethings in the game. Major changes will be taking place in the next few weeks, with all the new patches coming out. I think the game will get better, but the servers may get better, if enough people complain about the lag issues. But for now, I will sit back and enjoy the game as it is now. But the only thing I hate is that, is how powerful the Terran Republic is, its unreal. Thats the one thing SOE HAS to fix, they are going to fix. Also they need better handeling on the reaper. Its so hard to control with the mouse and keyboard.

Been playing PS for a little over a week here, Mainly play as Syk0weasel on Emerald as part of the NC army. Luckily I have odd play times so i rarely am on during the "primetime" playing hours so i usually don't have too much problem with lag even though I'm currently on just a 56k dialup. However the times i do get too much lag i just switch over to Konried and play a terran as a change off pace. My NC main is a adv hacker infil with AA max and AMS cert. Nothing more fun than sneaking around in infil suit and popping people from point blank with my AMP before they know what hit them. Also fun to sneak up on a enemy AMS and jack it, then sneak out as everyone starts freaking out.

Overall it's a fun game and as long as they do something to fix the lag I think people will continue playing. looking forward to some of the new vehicles especially the Liberator Bomber, course it's gonna rack up the bomber some major grief points of not carefull i bet.

I saw a friend palying this at one of those stores with a LAN in the back. I was talking to him about it, and the whole pointless thing started getting to me, but then i realized I played neverquest at one point. its been growing on me and I'm debating whether i need the money or not :)

I don't lag at all on Emerald unless im on my 56k. I DO have extreme to the max choppyness due to a lack of hardware. I ussually play on that icy continent, Cysor, or something. I don't get much choppyness there due to lack of people.

Only probably I have with Emerald is getting that annoying "You have left the World." menu. I odn't lag before I get it. It is completely random. I can be running around fine and BAM it pops up.

Just found out that the game is much better if you have Power Strip.

Power Strip ups the brightness on your monitor, makes the game much easier to see.

I was a beta tester for this game, I was on it when there were only 100 of us. lol! It was awsome when they first made it an open beta, but now the game lags way too much and gets WAY too repetative. It loses it's charm after 2 or 3 weeks. It needs more susbstance. I'll admit, it's so exciting the first time you go out in a Galaxy and make a drop though.

Power strip is a program that allows your monitor to excede the normal brightness. So the monitor is brighter, its not as dark.


You have to play the game and have a crappy monitor to understand.
