What do you think about these cars? (more advice please)

Assume all cars are in good condition and run well.

    1. 97 Saturn ($7297)

4 cylinder; auto. trans.; AC; power steering, windows, and locks; and ABS brakes. 58,270 miles

    2. 97 Toyota Corrolla DX ($6997)

4 cylinder; auto. trans.; AC; power steering, windows, locks, and brakes. 78,411 miles

    3. 97 VW jetta ($6997)

4 cyl.; AC; power steering and locks. 69,082 miles

    4. None of those are worth it. Keep looking.

Please rate them in oreder form best to worst (in your opinion, of course )

Thanks, but can you give reasons for those suggestions?

          nononono Jetta............................................. .................................................. .................................................. ...................................corrola........ .............. Saturn

the Jetta is WAY better. Saturn is not a car manufacturer.. they manufacture crash dummy test vehicles..... someones gotta make sure the dummies are working right

            Reputation is the reason.

            Toyota-
Been around a long time. Makes great cars, good quality, friends got a 85 corolla with over 200,000 miles on it and it runs great.

            VW-
Been around a VERY long time. Just aint my cup of tea, I like toyota a little better for some reason when it comes to economy cars, but still great engineering.

            Saturn-
            crap, period.

              Jetta.
              Reasons:
#1. Jetta has got good power.
#2. If you're into upgrading it is a good and easy car to do it with.
#3. It has ROOM compared to the other two.
#4. Much better handling than other two.
#5. Why in the world were you considering a Saturn? Bro, big waste of metal those things are.

You'll get a much nicer car for your money with the Jetta. The corrolla is a good car, but not as nice as the Jetta in my opinion.

go with the 85 camaro rs. make sure its primer color too.

i'd go with the japanese car out of that list, at 200000 miles they're just getting broken in, if they haven't rusted in half yet

Look up the blue book values there, do your homework.

The jetta is by far the best car out of those, especially the newer jettas. Saturn = crap IMO. underpowered, ugly, bad performance, etc., etc.

corolla = econo box jap car, that doesn't have that great of ride or much space but will get you places

jetta = more powerful, more room, better performance overall, looks good.

If at all possible I would learn to drive 5spd if you're getting a 4 cylinder car. If you're getting 6cycl, automatic is alright, but 4 cyclinder I would definately take the iniative to learn how to drive stick. it will give you so much more pop and bang. i.e., its going to be a hell of a lot quicker and you won't have the slow shift time due to lack of power and bad gear ratios that 4 cylinder automatic econo boxes have.

then again if you're constantly in traffic you may want automatic, but if you can stomach it get the 5spd and do yourself a favor

I just looked up the blue book on the jetta...christ that price is a raping, the blue book on it is only about $5500-5800 meaning that I wouldn't pay more then $5500 unless its in amazing condition.

blue book is a good thing to go bye, but remember it gives you an aprox amount a bank will give you for a loan on a car. It's not neccessarly market value. VERY VERY different things.

I would try and jew him down a little on that jetta, but it's not that bad of a deal.

$1400 over blue book is pretty friggin absurd unless there's none in the area. Blue book gives you the value of the car in your area, what you should expect to pay for it. If you want a good deal, I wouldn't pay more for it unless its in immaculate condition.

                            Have you checked eBay?

Cars are going for thousands LESS then bluebook.... and shipping is around $1000 or less...
