    krafty's new toy

Well, ok. Not exactly new, but new to me. 2000 Dagger RPM Max whitewater kayak. It's in excellent shape, with the usual scuffs and scrapes, but nothing major. Already came outfitted with a Snap Dragon backband, lots of padding, endcaps and 2 float bags.

I've got a borrowed Werner paddle and some el-cheapo sprayskirt and PFD until I can track down the ones I want.

        Looks nice.

I've always wanted to try kayaking but never had the chance. How much would a 'begginers' kayak cost ya?

It's okay to mix peas and corn. But don't call it "porn".

Beginners kayaks aren't too expensive. Try renting, if it's available in your area. Used is the inexpensive way to go (like I did). Sure, you don't get the ultimate in cutting-edge boating technology... you also don't get a $1000 hit on your credit card!

Where do you tie down the seal carcass?

I've always wanted a Kayak. Where I live, an ocean Kayak is more logical and useful.....someday....someday.

Well, there were a couple of beachgoers that could've fallen into the Whale category, but that's about the closest thing we've got around here.

There's a small (16 acre) lake right across the street from us, which is good for practice. We're about 2 miles from Lake Michigan, and whitewater boats are a blast in the surf!

Otherwise, there's some decent moving water in northern Michigan or we'll pile the boats in the truck and head down to NC.
