    MEPS

Going tomorrow morning @ 4:30am. Wish me luck, I'll need it! I'm trying to get in the army right now and will need a waiver for childhood asthma. If I do get the waiver, I'm going in as 31F or 31R, Signal Corps. For anyone who wants to know what MEPS is, it stands for Military Entrance Processing Station.

    Edit: fixed name of MEPS.

    Good luck man.

Thanks for the support guys! I just got back and found out that MEPS will consider me for a waiver. I also found out that I didn't pass the color vision test. Great, something that would narrow my list of MOS's available to me. The MOS's I was considering required normal color vision. If I can't get a MOS that is close to what I wanted , I'll probably drop out. I already made computers and networking a living and wanted to use that in a military career. Well, I'll see what happens with my waiver and go on from there.

              i belive its

              Military Entrance Processing Station.

I went out to MEPS in Fort Dix, New Jersey to take my ASVAB. I scored an 85 which is really really high, the average is between 40-50. I qualify for pretty much anything in the army . Im not enlisting this summer tho, my parents wouldnt sign the papers so i have to wait til next year. Bummer.

So what did you score on your ASVAB?

I'll tell you, MEPS was real interesting. I'd never been naked in front of so many strangers in my life. But, the worst was the shots by far. Not fun, but I lived, and almost four years later, here I am. Still in the Air Force.

Yeah it's Military Entrance Processing Station. I keep thinking Program Station for some reason. I only scored a 67 on the ASVAB. The algebra questions got me and it's been awhile since I did those. Should have freshened up on them!

You got shots in MEPS? I know the Army get shots while in Reception at BCT. Hmm, must depend on the branch.

when I went to MEPS... back in the mid 90's

the most nekid you got infront of others was down to your boxers in a obscenly cold room to do some silly flexing things... basicly to check for scoliosis (sp?) and flat feet

Then you went into thsi seemingly colder room when you got the turn your head and cough routine and a quick peak for 'roids.

Of all the silly things that they put us through there I have to say the angry marine watching you pee in the cup and the -insanly quiet- beeps of the hearing test were the most annoying

When I finally got to do the urine test, I had trouble getting up from my chair! I had to pee soooo badly that I didn't have trouble peeing while someone watched us. Only one guy had trouble with the urine test. He couldn't go no matter how much he drank water. But eventually did go.
