      A friend of mine went to the meeting last week where it was discussed. He just added it to the list of gripes he has with the Principal there. Anyways, the schools only argument is "we don't know how to administer them".

        i think a quote from the article says it all:
        In a time of serious budget crunches in the schools, for them to turn down a gift of $43,000 just seems asinine ...
        The reason given that they are standardizing on "PCs" is crap. First of all they acknowledge having the resources to handle Macs. Even if they did not, let the teacher get them with the understanding that there will be no "support" for them.

        I can understand not wanting to spend money on any Macs or Mac only resources. Okay, don't. But take the free stuff.
