I need a new multiplayer game, please help

Ever since 10six died, ive had a huge void in multiplayer gaming for me
Im not talking about any half life mods or anythign though

Preferably something large scale, with many players
Most preferably something Massively Multiplayer
Also, anything but dungeons and dragons sort of thing, no role playing games, but everything else

Does anyone know a game that fits this?

Look into Battlefield 1942, most of there servers run 50+ players . Most other Massivly Multiplayer games require a monthly play fee, and are of the roleplay style.

plant side or slide or something is comming out. It's kina like futuristic people killing each other with different races and what have you. Sounds good, I'm not sure if its released to the public yet.

Wolfenstein Enemy Territory; it's not huge but you can get 30+ people and you can download it for free. Edit: it's a WWII game.

Depends on if you want to pay monthy fees for this MMOG or not?

Planetside has been out for a month now and it is getting better. The playability has gotten more stable, although it still tends to lag with 3-400 people in the same area at once.

new vehicles are being added, Skyguard anti aircraft buggy came out this morning, and the liberator bomber comes out soon.

Massive battles? Yeah sometimes, although the norm is usally 50 or so on a side sluggin it out. I have seen hundreds on a side at once but that is pretty rare.

tower fights are intense. Sometimes taking a half hour to secure.

Overall there isn't anything like it out there right now. Don't know how it's going to fare after this first free month is up tomorrow though.

Have to wait and see.

you will have to buy planetside and remake your account. if you havent played planetside i would highly recommend it. i would say its sort of like a massive online halo, with a lot more features, and if you're good with teamwork it's lots of fun.

Planetside is 13 a month unless you buy it in bulk. A years sub gets it down to 10 a month.

You can probably find the game itself for less than retail if you do some looking. Ebay may be a good bet to find a cheaper copy.
