    For you car guys

Would you be able to raise a '72 el camino to be like 4-5 feet off the ground? Im dont really know cars too well yet but i think that would be cool. of course with nice stuff under the hood too. I just finished driver's ed (im 15 now). So I'll be on the road soon. I just want a unique car tho.

well you could put jack kit upon jack kit. or just rip the pistons and shocks off of farm equipment and make a custom frame for them and retro fit it to your car. but any way el caminos rock dont do anything tragic to it.

You can raise any car that high, but why would you? And do you realize how high that IS?

And do you realize the size of tires you would need and the cost of them?

And do you realize that normally vehicles raised like that have four wheel drive?

I advise rethinking what you think is cool and unique and what is plausible for your needs.

haha, its possible, but it would only go about 30mph, and it would only go about 1mph around corners, if that.

My truck is louder than yours. A lot louder.

you do also know that you can have a maximum of 36 inches from ground to bumper in most states, bumper must be in stock location.
ok lets cover the cost of such a project.
you'd need 6" suspension lift kit, 4" body lift, can't go much higer than that and expect it to be road legal. the el camino. a 70's shortbed chevy pickup to get the frame and 4 wheel drive components out of. tons of work on the body of the el camino. most likely a motor rebuild. possibly a new transmission. relocation of lines, wiring, gas tank, and bodymounts. driveshafts. steering components. tires and rims
if you do alot of the work yourself you'd most likely spend between 6000 and 8000 on the low end. if you have a shop do it you could spend over 10000.
yes i have thought of this stuff before.

To bust the 4x4 Rumor, you DON"T NEED 4x4 to lift the car, nor does it need 4x4 to go offroad. A guy i know has a Jeep Grand with a 6 inch lift and 35s or so on it and it can do better offroad than most 4x4's. But of course his dad is a doctor and he has like 12k invested in it.....
