Ya, that one is pathetic. Seems commonplace over there.

Now, iknow why i never post there.

            Not afraid to wipe.
What kind of crap is that? When I initally got into the sport, I was told that paintball is an "honor based" game where you have to call your self out etc. Is winning that important? I don't know what my hit to getting hit ratio is, but I can tell I've played honest from day one. If that is the kind of garbage that pbnation has posted, then I'll not post on that thread, I feel it's unjust to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent, and I'll never post there period. I really don't want to bother wit that kind of trash. Not to say that the whole forum is like that, but as the saying goes: One bad apple...
I mean, people are constantly whining and moaning about how or sport gets so little respect etc. How can they expect us to get more if we openly advise players to cheat? I used t think "No one likes a wiper. But I guess I am wrong. But, I've been wrong before, and I'll probably be wrong again before I die. So, I'll just go on not liking cheaters. Paintball is an easy sport to cheat at I know, but it's easier to play honestly.

            I'm ranting again,

            Sorry,

i feel the same way. Nothing makes me more angry than people who wipe. Somethimes there is a temptation to wipe, because 'it wasnt noticible or everyone else is or im having such a good game'. But if people are cheating, fighting fire with fire is just gonna make it worse. I personally like to tell the person after the game. They always get all defensive, which means MAYBE they still have some sort of dignity. If i see someone wipe in a game, i do my best to get them out, maybe in some way thats pretty hard to wipe, like 3 hits on the goggles, or just bunker them. Anyway, it pisses me off. Well, so does PBN. It just seems like there are far more people of questionable character there.

                Yeah,
I remember the first time I ever saw some one wipe. I was like my second or third game. We were playing at a local 'Sup Air field, and I was trying to tag the kid behind a boomerang, This boomerang was stood up on its ends so it looked kind of lke an "A." Everyone always forgets that you can see through that big opening on the bottom, so I put a couple of shots through it to remind him. Then I saw it. Plain as day, this kid swore, and wiped the mark. I got really ticked off, and threw a good amount of paint in his direction. I tink I tagged him 4 or 5 times. Then he yells hit, and walks off the field. After he yelled hit, I couldn't resist asking him "Are you sure?"
                Cheaters can't be trusted.
That is how I feel. If you have to cheat at a game then what else are you going to cheat at in life? If I can't trust you to keep honest in a game how can I trust you to be honest with anything else? maybe a little hardline, but I can't change how I feel.
How did that one knuckle head put it? Playing the gray? Does that fall under the some rules are meant to be broken clause at your local field? It's people like Mr. Playing the Gray that make me a liar. I tell folks all the time that paintball is a sport that builds character, team work, friendship, and good sportsman ship. So, imagine how I must feel when I have to look a friend of mine and explain to them that not all player are wipers. That really makes me look like a fool. I know it sounds like I am being niave when I say that cheaters are a bad reflection of ths sport, especially to Mr. Playing the Gray, but (insert curse word here) him. I think he needs to grow up.
Again, it's been said before, and I'll say it now: Howin the world do you expect our sport to gain any inkling of respect with people like Mr. Playing the Gray telling others that a good front man knows when to wipe? In short we can't. It's not possible for us to advance the sport and at the same time police ignorant fools like him? We can't.
I remember reading an article in Popular Mechcanics about paint ball saying that it missed out on being an Olympic sport by a very narrow margin. Wouldn't you like to see it make it next time? I would, but if they see that kind of conduct, it'll never happen.
Like I said before, I've always played honest. And always will. And in the end I guess that and presenting the sport in a positive light is all anyone can do to advance the sport.

                Sorry, ranting again.

its as simple as this: Its more fun to play honestly. Unless you have no concience what-so-ever, if you win something and you cheated, how could you no question wether or not you really should have won?
And the people that are saying that player from other sports cheat too, so that makes it ok to wipe: They are wrong. It is not only completely unacceptable, it is also totaly different. I play football. Im a cornerback. If a reciever or back comes out to block me, and they hold me (a penalty, but its not always seen, unless its a really bad hold), i can still break away, its just more difficult. Even though he has an unfair advantage, i can still just outmuscle him (sometimes), or just juke him, or whatever. In paintball, the only way to get the opposing player is to hit them with a paintball. If they wipe, then there is no way to get them out. Unlike other sports, there is no other method. So where does that leave you?
The first time i saw someone wipe, i was playing in a big woods game, center flag. Our team had the flag, and i was running up the field with the flag carrier. As i stopped and ducked into cover to reload I saw a guy i had hit wipe the paint off him chest. Omfg, i was so pissed. As we got back up to run again, (mad sprint, near the end of the game), i came around the side of the cheater, i just kept shooting. I was like, ya you deserve that, because you wiped. Course getting pulled for lighting him up sucked. Looking back, (it was like 2 years ago), i feel kinda worthless because i lit him up, which is also not really sportsmanlike.

                  Wellll there was my rant.
