im thinking of picking up this game tomorrow, womdering if anyones played basically the final release version yet and if it fixed some of the problems i heard of in the beta(lag and things like that)

and of course we can make a list of characters for ao guys to buddy up while we're at it

I wont be playing... for a couple reasons

1. lack of time
2. already pay for DAOC
3. Jawa's are not a playable race, yet the darth maul race is... wtf is up with that?

The kid down the hall from me has been playing that game for a darn long time. He was a beta tester or something. We weren't allowed in the room when he was playing it. From what he said though, it sounded boring.

They haveing server problems with subscription and game. Things work fine if you use Mozilla to subscribe and you clear the cookies.

I played in beta since April. Things like server lag was mostly stamped out... but it is a very graphics intensive game. so if your computer is not top notch you WILL be moving slow and choppy..

I played on a p4 2ghz Geforce4 4400 ti and 1 gig of ram.

the last 2 big patches they put out at the end of beta fixed a lot of stuff. it should be a pretty complete starting game. Perfection? hell no. but then again perfection is in the eye of the fanboy.

And yes the servers were being hammered like a mofo yesterday with all the new players trying to get signed up.

I lag in cities but I have no trouble when people are shooting people all around me. I like the game.

i was in bestbuy yesterday looking at other stuff when the people put the game out i looked at it and bought it. this is the first mmorpg i have bought so i don't know anything and i could not log on yesterday. so i think ill try later but if any ao guy play i'll play

I am looking to pick this game up, but I'm wary because of a lot of bad reviews from beta testers I know.

Anyone who could do an in-depth review of the game (not the beta, the retail release) , that would be great.

Im totally into MMORPG's and Id say this is the biggest waste of time! I was in beta and hated it! Its not easy or fun... I believe these games should be fun and a challenge, not have you guessing what to do for hours, and noone to talk to, since the servers are HUGE and laggy!\


DAOC, EQ, Diabblo, UO, Ac are way bettter games then SWG...

Dont be corrupted by the StarWars theme....

What do you play now?!

Right now Im in LOVE with Warcraft3!!! Heres some online rpgs..

DAoC......Good, takes to long to lvl, pvp can be a pain at times.

UO......Old, bad graphics, content is endless, was fun years ago but who knows now(i used to be obsessed with this one)

EQ......Never played it but I hear its the most addicting game out. Plus a good account is worth like $2k+!!!!

AC.....Never played it, but hear its fun...who knows?!

WC3.....online strat game, Loads of fun and you dont have to be hard core committed, plus its free.

SWG..... Crap IMO, its going to flop!

SB.......Kinda fun at first, thieves are fun to play, sux horribly when your town gets destroyed...alots of bugs, duping..


You can also wait for Warcraft World or EQ2....Thats what Im doing....

i played d2 exp, but i got bored after having all of the high end items and the hacked items

right now i play......dpb for half-life, i've been rpgless for 8 months

and could you un-abriviate those game titles?
