    Building a Paint Hauler

Just picked up a few pieces for my newest project, A 1989 Safari cargo van.
I had to pick up the racing buckets for the front,( the store knocked a hundred dollars off each seat.
I definitely needed a decent sound system and am starting with a Sony Xplod cd/mp3 deck, and Boston 6x9's for the front of the van. I'm still deciding on amp and rear speakers for it.
The engine is the stock 4.3, but will be switched out for a roller 5.0 from a Camaro after it expires.
Alas, I'm keeping the van under the Yellow cover until I finish the body work and get it painted. I will post pics of it when it's done, but here's a tease.
The buckets and the first part of the sound system.

I hope to have it done in time for SPPLAT II

    Some fresh pics

    carpet and front seats installed

    stereo installed

and the old seats. They're going to be recovered . I still have to make and install brackets for securing the scuba tanks.

I still haven't decided what i'll use to cover the sides with.

    Final wet sand before painting.

    Freshly painted

    reinstalling everything I took off

Now to finish the interior, find some rims and runningboards.
I'm not sure yet, but I may go for a visor and wing.

Wow, those are pretty nice lookn' seats. What kind are they anyways and how much were they per seat?couldn't quite make out the label but those would match the interior of my gti perfectly.

The seats are APC's and go for $300 Can. each.

It's only rear drive which is fine for me, since AWD would mean one more thing for me to break.
My current allowance is being spent on body, paint, seats and stereo. Engine, tires, rims and molded running boards are in the future.

If your getting a more powerful engine, why not get a trailer hitch and slap a small trailer for gear on that bad boy?
