            Wow! Thank you very much everyone! I'm glad I could share this with my AO family.

            To answer your question FalconGuy016, govnamac was right on. The different color of blue shirts is just to differentiate different departments. In the class picture, the light blue shirts are from New Jersey Human Services Department. The guys in the medium blue shirts with the baseball caps are from the Alternate Route Program (that is what I was when I entered the Academy). That means they do not have a job, and did the academy for the entire 6 months without collecting a paycheck. Everyone else in the picture was getting paid and was hired before coming to the academy. I spent the first 3 months as an alternate route before I was hired. And the "white shirts" are either Sgt.'s, Lt.'s, Capt.s' or Chief's. Not every department lets thier Sgt.'s wear white shirts.
