As a Mag owner, I would say get a Mag. As far as how they hold up against Cockers, in my opinion, Mags are a lot more reliable. Impulses, well I really don't know much about those so I will not say anything to avoid misinformation.
Asking us what to buy will garner a lot of different responses from a lot of differnt people. I can alomst assure you that yu could post that you are dead set on getting a Mag, and you will still have folks telling you to get something else. They are not trying to make you mad or anything, they are trying to tell you what the best marker is in their opinion.

But, here are the facts as I know them:

    1. RT Valve and higher (X-Valve) will only run on compressed air. I know that cockers will run on CO2, I think Impluses will, though I am not too sure on that one.

    2. Most Mags are ready to rock right of the box. As a result there are not a lot of after market accessories for it. But there are a lot of after market goodies for Impulses and Cockers.

Sorry, I'm really tired and can not think of a lot more right now.

    By the way....

      What he said
Although, a stock mag isnt the greatest against a lot of cockers, and definatly not going to live up to an impulse. There are a few huge upgrades for a mag that bring it up to par

However, even with a stock mag, it will never break, it is a very simple and reliable design, and AGD is one of the best supportive companies out there

Just in case you were wondering, this kind of thread can be put under 'paintball talk', thats more of the general forum for things relating to paintball. The friendly forum is more for other things. Just FYI, *might* get a better response at paintball talk
