Beside, isn't kazaa pretty untracable?. they would have to monitor the thing constantly, and watch who was downloading etc.

              I have 7500+ songs.....takes up 40 gigs

My friend was a download freak and let me use his external HD and transfer the files/songs. I have music I probably will never listen to, or even know I have.

                This is how there tracking

What there doing is going through your ISP. Because we all have a isp, they get your isp from Kazaa, then go through your isp to find out who the real person behind the downloading is. Then you get a certifed letter and bam your in court.

just take your shared file music and put it into another folder so it isnt being shared. How will they track it? I have Kazaa lite with some cheater thingy that came with it. It says my participation is 1000 but my shared folder is copletely empty. i get music but it wont be tracked. Doesnt really matter though because i dont download much music anyways

me = pwnz0rs all of you

I have 50.3 GB of music, totalling somewhere around 11,000 songs.

dont use regular kazza, simply for the spyware installed. If you use anything, use kazaa lite.

better yet, dont use kazaa lite.. use direct connect.. connect to a hub outside of the US and sample music there.

there is no way in hell the RIAA is going to stop the free trade of music. the enterprise in and of itself is too big. take direct connect for example.. some of the larger hubs I have connected to are 25 terabytes plus of data. mostly music, alot of movies and games and such.. just like kazaa, but on a larger scale. that, and you have IRC.. you can find almost anything on IRC...

anyways, i dont think you have much to worry about. nor do I. I dont make my music available to the public, and I would have to say at least 40% of the music I own is ripped from CDs that I purchased. besides the firewalls and all sorts of things run on my computer to prevent outside access and what not.

Yeah, they can go ahead and bring me to court for 50 songs, ok. I will just burn them all to a CD and save them to my desktop, play them through winamp.

                              hahahhaa... i agree..

im eagerly anticipating the day the RIAA comes to visit my house.

*edit* also on another note.. the RIAA really doenst have much to do with the above mentioned.. however, the court systems that are having thier times wasted has something to do with it.

haha irc sucks, direct connect is alright. i never really listen to music on my computer but the best way to get music is off of ftps. i know a few people who run huge archive sites of all sort of music, and you just have to download a folder thats a complete cd instead of worrying about getting each file. most of it is 320bps or better too, which is nice. as for firewalls and anything else on your computer, the RIAA won't try to hack you, they will just trace it to you or your isp and then do something legally. the only way you would be safe is if you chained together about 15+ anonymous proxies.
