    Pearl Jam

I went to see the montreal Pearl Jam concert last sunday and it was awesome! Eddie (the singer) was great, he came on the stage with a bottle of wine and gave an awesome show!
it lasted close to 3 hours and they played 31 songs. it was well worth the money and id go back to there show any time.
did anybody else went to see a Pearl Jam concert?

Did the song "Jeremy"...off the album "Ten", about the only album anybody really knows of. They did a ton of good stuff though. Download em.

I was a fan back when they first broke. I saw them in concert at Lallapalooza 2 (The good one). But they seem to have gone downhill since for some reason. Their music just went a direction I was'nt interested in following, I guess.

              I love them.

However, their music may have taken a "slight" turn. And I mean slight. One might call it growing/evolving.

I think the issue is that they are less promoted since the Ticket Master debacle. They are running on thier own steam.

My god... I just about had a heart attack. They are still played on the radio in NY all the damn time.

All this music you listen to now? The reason hair bands are dead? You have three bands to thank for it.

Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden. They ended the 80s, and behind them came bands like Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Creed, etc.

Ten was definitely Pearl Jam's most popular album, also their most powerful. It had songs such as Jeremy, Alive, Even Flow, and most peoples favorite, Black. The ones that came later, though, were fairly popular in their own right. Daughter, off of Vs., was a huge hit. Better Man, off Vitalogy.

They've had Yellow Ledbetter, Last Kiss... couple other singles.

Their concert tours continue to sell out to this day.

Their first album only came out 12 years ago, how are people forgetting who they are already? Man this is sad.

Now I know how my dad felt

I drove down to VA Beach to see them open their US tour a couple years back (the Binaural tour). Awesome show, even in the rain standing shin-deep in mud.

As for their change in music, yeah, their music started off very harsh, powerful, and full of emotion. Eddie screamed a lot, etc, etc. Ten is one of my all-time favorite albums, I've owned at least 4 copies of the album because I played it so much it eventually got worn out.

By the time you get to Binaural, their music is much more mellow. I think the progression of the band has come up with some amazing music that crosses a whole spectrum of musical style. I guess it depends how you look at it. Would you rather have a band like Korn, where every album sounds the same as the one before it?

I own every major PJ release (well, not all 27 concert releases), and I like the fact that I have a selection. Do I want mellow music? Well, I can listen to Pearl Jam. Harsher music? Well, I can still listen to Pearl Jam.

There is a reason PJ is one of the best bands this century (Try to find one of those Top100 lists without PJ in the top 25 or so, you'd have a tough time). If you havn't listened to them before, go check them out and find out why

Thordic gave a better explaination that i could have ever given. I am with Thordic, i own every single LP released by PJ except the concert stuff. Their stuff is truely amazing. The intensity of their music is something you barely ever see today. No band can truely compare with how Eddie puts everything he's got into what he sings.
