writing song lyrics

Does anyone here like to write song lyrics? I'm kinda writing some now but im not very good. well its more of a poem now because i dont have any music to go with it. but hey if you look all songs are just poems.

Hardest part is to match music with the lyrics. They have to both flow together otherwise the song will suck.

try taking the lyrics, and using a scale, and putting a note on the scale with every syllable or every other syllable. work with it with a keyboard or something, and everntually youll have a decent base to work with.

Most importantly, it doesn't have to rhyme. So many people get caught up on the rhyme scheme, but it's what you say that really matters.
