    I need some computer advice/help

im not very into computers, but my computer has been going realy slow lately. I want to get half life and the dpb mod, but i dont think my computer would be able to handle it. i want to know how you guys/girls think that i could upgrade it with minimal cost. here are some specs

Its an HP Pavilion desktop(about 3 years old)

    Intel Celeron processor GenuineIntel ~667MHz
    Total physical memory--62.45 MB
    Available physical memory--820 KB
    Total Virtual memory--2 GB
    Available virtual memory--1.77 GB
    Page file space--1.94 GB

That stuff is straight from the system summary, so im not sure if its all useful, if youd like to know more about the pc, ask what you want to know, and how i would find out what i have (like video card, etc.)

Get a lot more ram minimum I would recommend is 256 for games but 512 is really needed for the new stuff. But with that cpu you are really limited.

$30-50 for ram. If all you are playing is Half life and it's mods then the computer is fine although still slow for my tastes. If you want to play anything that came out last year and any future releases a new computer is needed.

www.crucial.com will tell you exactly what to buy, and it's pretty cheap.

if you're going to be upgrading yeah i agree the ram is the most important thing right now. but i'd say it's time to get a new computer.

Thats overall just... very low sorry
                  And celeron
I really think you should go ahead and buy a new setup (but not a new computer! just wastes your money) find a good local computer store that is cheap, and put together a new computer

If you want to go that path I'll be sure to help

If you decide to set up an entirly new computer, i'd check out www.tigerdirect.com . I've shopped there for quite a while now, and it seems to have very good prices on anything that I need.

keep in mind halflife is 5 years old, you dont need a top of the line computer to run it. here are the sys requirements:
                      pentium 233
                      32mb ram
                      svga 16bit video card
