Woo Woo I'm an Engineer really, I am

    With a hat and all!!!

Though some of you would like to see one of my other hobbies. These bad boys are all hand built, from scratch without plans (not by me) I help fix them and machine small parts for new ones. Mostly I just shovel coal

Boy, do I know someone that wants to be your best friend!

A good friend of mine has been into HO scale for the 30 years I have known him. His dream is to have his own G or larger scale to ride on around his yard

There is a huge club by me where they have the size ones you pictured. but they also have an even bigger scale. They have a huge layout in one of the regional parks. Its on the side of a hill. Pretty neat if you ask me.

It's okay to mix peas and corn. But don't call it "porn".

                    Yup they are fun!
Unfortunately the track isn't in my yard, but it is right down the street. As for the cost of one of these monsters, we really don't know. I guess they're worth whatever someone's willing to pay. Doubt we'd sell them anyway. Driving these is just like the real thing. You have to add coal to the burner making sure the pressure head stays in the safe zone but still having enough to move you. They derail very easily if you hit a turn too fast so you have to feather the pressure valve constantly to maintain a decent speed. The brakes are useless with 6 adults behind you on flatbeds.

Cris8762, we also have a gas powered and an electric powered engine. The gas is a 16hp honda 2 cylinder driving four hydraulic drive units. She could pull a house! The Electric is a hybrid, a 2 cycle weed eater engine turning an alternator which charges a set of batteries which, in turn, powers two electric motors that drive the trucks. (The green engine in the second pic)

These are 1 1/2 scale, they run on 7 3/4 rails.
BTW, the guy has 1/4 mile worth of track and a turntable that he made.
