Astronomers advice needed!

is the Meade ETX-90 EC astro telescope, a good one? do you think its worth it? i would go for the ETX-125 if i had money but i dont. Does it come with the remote thing, or do i have to buy that? is there a better cheaper tripod available for it?

It depends on how serious you are going to get about astronomy. In general it will get you started but it's about like buying a Spyder, good to get going but not a great investment in the long run. Your absoulute best bet is to find an astronomy club in your area and go to one of their star parties. Star parties are held so everyone can look through everyone elses telescopes and sell stuff. Try a bunch and look for a deal on a used one. Nothing ususally goes wrong with telescopes.
