ABC Family, Power Rangers and Maxim????

Is it just me, or has TV advertising started to take a serious turn for the worse. I've recently seen commercials for "adult" products during kid's cartoons. Not really a big deal, just seemed like they were reaching the wrong audience. This morning, however, was a different story. An advertisement for Maxim cologne during a Power Ranger show. Why on earth would you air a commercial with scantly clad women "flashing" (bikinis under the thrown open garment)? Is it just me, or is this something you do not think is appropriate for young children (under ten in this case)?

That ranks up there with Abercrombie and Fitch selling g-strings targeted to girls 8-14 years old with sayings like "Eye Candy" on them.

No doubt our kids are under attack.

It's never quite as easy scheduling those things as it would seem, but still it looks like somebody screwed up... but it may not be ABC Family. It could easily have been your local affiliate, cable company or satellite provider (like Dish Network or DirecTV). Ever wonder why you see two of the same commercial sixty seconds apart? It is because the network plays that commercial first, and the local provider, not knowing any better, has scheduled the same commercial in their local 'avail' in the same break. It happens. I'm guessing the commercials in question were loaded into the local provider's system without any kind of restrictions, and it just happened to come out that way.

What about commercials for fire safety at 4:00am. AM!!!

          lol

Thongs for kids are stupid. Parents who buy them for their preteen daughters should be shot. Parents who buy them for their preteen sons... I dunno. lol

Those are PSAs. TV stations and networks use those (along with some of the most annoying promos known to man) to fill the commercial gaps on the stuff they run overnights. Commercials generally don't sell well in those time periods, and when they do sell, they're usually dirt cheap. (That's why you see ads for the local comic book shop at 4am instead of 4pm.)

another thing supporting my theory that our "government" is really a puppet to abercrombie and fitch, and they are trying to brainwash kids to buy abercrombie and fitch, while all profits go to a bomb that will destroy the whole world

I can't remember the last time I was in an AF. And I DO spend a lot of time with "underage" girls, my daughters 6 and 4. Thanks for your concern though.
