Just bought a 55 gallon saltwater aquarium!

Well, I don't know how many of you saw the thread I made early about one but I went to my local fish store today and bought one. I got everything I needed for saltwater minus fish and a good skimmer and live rock. Here are the pics of it setup going to get some live rock and maybe some damsels tommorrow. Let me know what you think.

Looks nice. I want to set up a saltwater tank, since I have a spare 90 gallon laying around, but I don't have the time

    Good luck with it.

Cool I have a 30 Gallon tank with an 8 inch tiger Oscar in it.

Anything I put in the tank with Oscar mysteriously disappears.

                Cool.

My dad owns an Aquarium buisness. What are you setting up, reef or fish tank? I would suggest not putting in any fish until you have had it running a little while. Make sure to use something to get rid of any chlorination and(sp?)

Now lets all sit back and watch as the money pit known as saltwater aquariums eat all his money.

Thats only half a joke, as there are so many cool fish, and it always seems the cooler the fish, the more expensive.

I'll be looking forward to pics of whatever you decide to keep in it.

                      cool, ive got a 75, i think, i know its ~70

anyways, salt water is such a pain in the butt, you gotta keep everything just right, and the stages of alge are a pain. i decided it wasnt worth it and went back to fresh water, went down to a local lake and caugh 2 big mouth bass. they are now the only 2 fish in there, besides all the minos they eat. they are getting REALLY big.

i had wasted a whole butt load of money on all the salt water stuff and then it went sour so i just went fishin on day

55 gallon doesn't seem like a very big pool.... why are you so excited about such a small pool? And what's with the salt water? does it have some threaputic properties?

Good luck on your new endeavor. I'd put your heater on the other side of the filter and put some more water in there tho. You may have left it low to take up for displacement when you add some Live rock tho, so that's cool. I have an aquarium maintenance business that I use to make money for paintball Keep your fish load light and don't get 2 of the same thing. 90% of saltwater fish are pretty territorial and they will fight w/ a fish that looks just like them before another. Have fun!

Thanks for the input guys. To the only question I saw, Yes it is a money pit and has already ate all of mine. As for the water level being low is because you were rite its for displacement when live rock will be added.
