caught it at the 2250 showing last night ...
Very nice movie, acting was very good ... and nice to see that "Legolas" can wield a sword as well as a bow LOL ... Couldnt help but to continue to picture him in pointy ears for some reason.
The effects were great, and acting was really quite nice ... several big names. Depp is really one of those actors destined for "odd" roles, roles that have a physical style to them (not action/stunt wise). Look at how he moves and makes the character, not only in this movie but also Edward Scissorhands, and Benny and Joon. All three were characters that also had a "movement" to them.
In all honest I would recommend this movie over Terminator 3 to people. I found way to may holes and mistakes in T3 that really took away from the enjoyment of the movie.
This one however, was well done and one that I will see a second or third time.

Ha, i was planning on seeing Pirates of the carribean last night but not of my other friends wanted to see it. Needless to say, we ended up seeing T3 last night and it was less than stellar. this ladies and gentle men is THE movie you wanna see this summer. The acting, the story, the nostalga, and dramatic special effects along with a touch of comedy give this movie caracter like we seldom see any more. But what else do we expect from Johnny? I'm going to see it tomorow again
ps it's VERY clean too... no cussing and no nudity...very good family flick. I'm so sick of all the cussing...Comment

Not to forget that allot of the violence is actually done in taste ... no killing just to kill, and like it was said no gore or over the top blood.
May be a little much for younger kids, my 3 year old is dying because I wont let him see it yet, but I think in age range of 5-6 and up would be okay.

Yeah, I really liked this movie a lot. I've seen it twice so far (I have a bunch of different groups of friends, and they cannot coordinate their movie watching). I've never beena big Johnny Dep fan in the past, but I may have to re-evaluate that! Johnny Dep made this movie in more ways then one, he was simply terrific. His pirate character was simply a riot the whole movie. Jeffery Rush was good, as was Orlando Bloom, and the rest of the cast.
So far, it's this and the Italian Job for my favorite movies of the summer. Forget Matrix, The Hulk, and Terminator. See Pirates.Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing.
