How would you like to work 30 hours a week?

I am reviewing, reading about the great depressions and thinking about my situation and emplyment or lack there of.

I have found that during the 1930s unemployment was never really addressed and that the nation received a bandaid to fix an economic problem.

If people worked 30 hours a week that would create %25 more jobs.

That would be enough jobs to put everyone back to work and people would have more time to spend with the families. Just think what people could do with an extra 10 hours of personal freedom a week.

Well maybe not.

Alot of people just get by. Its a pretty tempting thought to give everyone in America a Job.

It would be nice too if people worked 30 hours a week got health benifets. They could do away with all the free percocets and Oxycontins welfare drug addicts to pay for it. That would bring down health costs. Make old people pay for their Viagra too. LOL.

some people work 70+ hours a week just to get by, and how would working 30 hours a week fix drug addictions? economic problems are just a little more complicated then that.

It would be nice if everyone could find a job! Some of us are lucky to have one, and even if it sucks, it's still better than nothing. Flipping burgers is not a glorious task, but someone has to do it!

I work about 32 hours a week. I work a 12 hour shift Friday evening to saturday morning, a 12 hour shift Saturday Evening to Sunday morning, and 2:45 PM to 1045 PM on Monday. I'm in the military, so I'm getting paid as much as some one of equivlant rank that works 12 hours every day. I get soooooooo bored. If I keep on this shift for much longer, I might take up physics and see if I can't solve that freaking Faster Than Light thing...

I would KILL for a 30 hour week!
At this time I work 50-60+ a week and would love some more time to spend with my kid.

Some people in the unemployment statistics are that way by choice. There will never be a time when everyone is employed. I do admit that it would be nice to get the same amount of money for 30 hours that I am getting now for 40!
