HOLY CRAP!!! this is the best band EVER!!!!

the band name is GALACTIC!

man i just discovered these guys after watching a biking movie with a song by them in there, and i was hooked. im a big fan of the Grateful Dead, jam bands, but i like almost anything with a good sound. ill listen to rap if i like how it sounds (i actually am a fan of snoop dog, onyx, and J-5). i listen to led zeppelin almost religiously, and i love all kinds of rock.

so now that you know i have no musical bias, ill tell you about these guys who call themselves "Galactic". they are a new orleans funk band. they are so good! the beats are AMAZING, and the never ending, but always appealing instrumentals are great. every song seems so fresh and nothing of theirs sounds repetetive. its like each song was inspired by a different thing. in other words, they are AWESOME! check out a few songs (im not going to say download, becuase i aint no pirate) of theirs, like : baker's dozen, actions speak louder than words, crazyhorse mongoose, funky bird, doo rag, black eyes pea.

metalheads might not like it, but its great music. im glad that people are still making music with only instruments (except a few of their songs) and keeping it inventive.

btw, i live in newtown CT.

fairfield is very close by. infact some of my teachers live in houses in fairfield. houses with mailboxes. well... some that used to have mailboxes... but i wouldn't know anything about that.

Actually the greatest band ever is BOYSETSFIRE but everyone is open to there own opinion. Check them out at www.boysetsfire.com There really political and have a lot of interesting stuff to say. Theres an audio section on the sitewhere you guys can listen to them.

boysetsfires best album would have to be after the eulogy. their sound ranges from whinyboy emo(not that thats a bad thing ) to some very intense hardcore. i recommend the title track, pariah under glass, and unspoken request.

I would agree with you on "After The Eulogy". How much of their stuff have you actually heard. They have six albums. The next best would be "This Crying This Screaming My voice Is Being Born". Their newest one "Tomorrow Come Today" is pretty good too but a lot of people are saying its watered down. I dont really think they have listened to the lyrics if they thinks its watered down but thats just my opinion.
