    Where should I move?

Las Vegas sucks for paintball... and it sucks for people with computer science degrees. The computer industry here is virtually non-existant. I'm seriously considering getting the heck outta here, and have already applied to some out of state positions.

I can deal with snow... but not excessive snow. I can deal with whatever heat, that's what I'm used to. Housing in Vegas is getting expensive, and you can't get much land. I'd like a place with a low to average cost of living... affordable land/housing. Gotta have paintball!

I'd like a good nearby university, in case I decide to pursue a doctorate... which is a possibility in 1.5 years... but I'm not sure if I want to do this or not. I figure, move sooner so I don't have to pay for out-of-state fees... just in case I decide to go for it right after my masters.

I thought about California... but it's too expensive there. After visiting Austin, that seems like a good place. Computer industries are there... and what little research I've done on housing costs is appealing. I can afford a way bigger house with more land sooner than if I stay in Vegas.

I know virtually nothing about other cities and states, so would appreciate any input.

        Colorado.

No paintball there, but Ireland would be an amazing place to live.

Colorado is nice. Not sure about the computer industry.

Nice paintballing fields, not much speedball, though I heard there's a new indoor place opening with 3-4 fields and padded astroturf.

              TEXAS!!!

If you want a large yard and what not, then Copper Canyon is a great place. Of course I don't think you would want to live near me.

                  California housing blows, expensive, taxed.

                  but Northern California is nice.

Try St. Louis. It's a good city...cheap, very cheap to live there.

Los Gatos is super expensive :/ So is Santa Clara, and San Jose, and pretty much anywhere in the sillicon valley. I reccomend somewhere like Stalkton or Tracy, the housing is super cheap, you can get a house thats a couple years old, 2 story, 3-5 bedrooms for under 300k.
You smell like dookie... No really though.

Well... I'm looking at 3000 sq. ft. new 1-stories in Austin for under $300k... some at only a quarter mil. Of course I can't start out like that... and it would be kinda silly while I'm single anyway. But it's nice to know that I can get to that point sooner than later.

I need room for a baby grand piano, among other things.

Reno is a possibillity. The tech businesses are growing. As much as anywhere else in this economy. Housing is still pretty cheap and AGD is making a space for itself here.

And you still get that no income tax benefit.
