Its Time For Counter-Strike Gods To Come Play

Thats right 200,000 for the winners, just for Counter-Strike.

Also at CPL their will be War Craft 3 1vs1, the prize money is 20,000.

And HALO for the PC, the winner gets 30,000.

If you in the Dallas, TX area go check it out, take pics for me, because I will not be attending.

See what makes the matches great are that you can only play if you are invited. Clans are coming from all around the world to play.

But thousands of people come to the BYOC(Bring Your Own Computer), its a 4 day lan for people that cant compete in the tourny, dont know how much it costs.

No, I really am, im one of those people that always kill you insanely, know where the other team is at all times, and go on ludicrious sprees. Too bad that I got out of the scene like a year ago (when retail came out, I consider that the end of cs. Plus too many FREAKIN N00BS CALLING ME A CHEATER!! EVEN WORSE!! TOO MANY NOOB ADMINS BANNING ME! Cant blame them, I was better than cheaters)

I hate bragging, lol, I really do, its the truth though. I have references

Cyberathlete league?

God, is that just pathetic or what?

Yet another example of lying to ourselves. Trust me folks, I've played CS for a long time, as well as a multitude of other games andif any one ever called me a "cyberathlete" I think I would puke on them.

Kinda sad that someone's willing to pay some pale, doughy, computer geek that much to play a damn game.

Actually the CPL has been around for about 5 years now but with sponsers like Intel, Compusa, Logitech and more the prize money is finally getting higher. There are over 5,300 people from 65 countries coming to this thing. It has been in the newspaper, in Maxim and on many of the early morning tv shows.

First place at this thing is 60,000 split between at least 5 people thats about $12,000 for each person on your team. Before you start judging these people as pale donut eaters remember the average age of these winners is around 17. So the next time your mom nags you for being on your computer, tell your mom your working towards your college fund.

Funny, I'm not a "pale, doughy, computer geek" and I competed at 3 of the CPL's.

What's even funnier is that you can make more money playing CS than you can playing paintball.

kthx.

The gamers dont Demand money for playing. The companies listed below split the cost of the winnings and so they only pay some money. Besides at the cost of entry and everything they get their money back, they get to sell their products at the event, such as tournys for paintball.

Well apparently its not retarted to...

Nvidia
CompUSA
Bawls
Shuttle
PNY
SoundMax
NetFire
Logitech
NetGear
Belkin
PlanTronics
Intel

Because they are all major sponcers in this event. Infact Bawls will have 22,400 bawls at the event to give away and sell at a very cheap price so the players can stay up the whole 4 days.

Computer Gaming is a skill, it requires tons of practice to be good at just like paintball.

My brother and his clan will hopefully attend the Winter 2003 tourny to compete. But I will have to wait to compete as their is an age limit of 17.

But Goose, if you go, could you possibly get some pics of the tourny.

After seeing that pic, I am sorry I just ordered a case of bawls. I forgot how much I love bawls, but I wish I could go to CPL and get them for dirt cheap.
