Here's the deal. I got the blue screen of death. I've had it happen before so I did what I did last time. I used the HP recovery disk and did the reinstall (not a format). All my files are there but most of the games don't work even after reinstall.
What I did last time was run the Scandisk. It found a bunch of errors and offered to fix them. I let it and the problem was solved.
This time I ran Scandisk and it found nothing. Now I can't play Madden or Unreal II (just to name two games). I am a loss of what to do except reformat. Two questions:
1. Is there anything I can do to fix the problem?
2. Would upgrading to XP help any?
