I work in an office building..
so, naturally, the office has AC. for those hot summer days. and belive me, in new england, they can sneak up on you, and you are glad you do work somewhere with AC.
well, this all starts monday.
(there are 2 AC units here. one cools our room full of servers and half the office, the other, the other half of the office)
monday.. AC unit 2 is leaking.. into the server room.. inches away from tens o thousands of dollars of server equipment.. no problem.. the powers that be decide a few trash barrels are an ok temp fix to solve the problem.. i go home shaking my head.. hoping for a slip and fall, and a lawsuit to ensue.
tuesday..
it is an icebox in here now. the AC unit that controls my art of the office, is on the fritz. it is very cold, unbearable cold to work in for 8 hours a day.
oh, and that damn leak is back.
AC people are called to fix the problem.. leak fixed.. my AC left alone.
wednesday..
still an icebox in here. i saw no AC personell here to work on the problem at hand...
thursday
suprise suprise.. its still freezing in here. i punch into work, leave, go back to my house, dig out my winter clothes, get a sweater, come back to work. other people in the building look at me as though I am insane.
which leads me to today. friday.
you would think that this would be fixed by now.. after complaints by employees that it is too cold and uncomfortable to work..
let me paint you a picture.
I am 6'0.. 280lbs.. not all muscle.. ive got some of the good insulation that keeps me warm
I show up to work in a hooded fleece, and long pants. I have taken off my collared shirt that I had on underneath this, leaving just a t-shirt.. i now use the collared shirt to warm my legs, as I feel they are nummbing..
another guy I work with brought in a thermometer from home..
59 degrees in here, and dropping..
I ask you... would you tolerate this BS?
I would much rather be working in a iron smelting factory right now..
