Does this make me a bad person? (Nuns go to jail!)

Let me state first and foremost that I am a Catholic, so I am not bashing my faith!

Okay, these nuns are protestors who have been arrested a total of 28 times collectively! This last time, they broke into a Nuclear Missile Base! They hit a silo with hammers and smeared their blood on it. The nuns were arrested again, expecting another slap on the wrist. The federal government finally enforced the law and is sending them to prison for years!

Does it make me a bad person if I am happy about this? I am just so tired of seeing protestors who feel that they are so morally superior that the law does not apply to them. They feel that their cause is more just then the law. Laws apply to everyone!

Protest all you want, but you have to obey the law too! Kudos to the prosecution for setting an example and not backing down (for a change).

Look at it this way. Should we go easier on those few Catholic priests that were discovered to have been molesting children, because their priests?

I would guess backflipping joy would be over the top, but a certain satisfaction that out system is'nt going to roll over for a few old nuns is fine. Whatever their occupation is/was, they're criminals now.

My thoughts on illegal protest (and I know there are historic places where it worked, etc. - but our government now does allow peacefull controlled demonstrations). The first time - you were overzealous, go home. The second time - your getting out of hand, spend a day in jail. The 28th time (or the 5th) - the law should be fully enforced against your act.

I dont think it makes u a bad person if it makes u happy that these nuns are going to jail, they deserve it cause they did not know when to call it quits. Just becuz there nuns does not really mean society should give them a break, and they knew what there doing would get them in trouble. I am glad they are gettin tossed in jail too, teach them a lessson.

Its just like with Celebritys, why do most of them get a break on punishment when they disobey the law??

Good, I thought I was the only one who didn't think it should make a difference just because theirs nuns. Hell, how often do we see entire stories on three people getting arrested for protesting? Rarely, it's usually just a little blurb while they talk about the protests.

Yes it makes you a bad person!

Seriously I don't celebrate the fact that a prisoner is going to spend his/her life in jail. I look at it as a necessary evil. If a hear a mass murderer has been caught and has been sentenced to life in prison/death it is the fact that they won't be doing bad things anymore that makes me happy and not the thought of them rotting in prison/being executed that gives me gladness.

I am just pleased to see someone finally putting their foot down and telling these protestors that there are limits!!! It had to happen!

Actually it just means you are going DOWN!!!! Those nuns are now going to be praying AGAINST your soul!!!! BWWAAAHHHAHAHAHHA!!!!

Actually my dad was raised Catholic. The school and everything. As far as he is concerned the nuns should be in jail for using those darn rulers on kids. Of course he had to walk both hills upway and all that as well

                        Im Catholic.

You should know that these nuns can face expunsion or excommunication for doing that. Theyve been told by the church not to do that. They keep doing it.

They are doing what the belive in, protesting weapons of mass destruction. Catholics as Im sure most good religous people dont belive in blowing up the planet with 20,000 nukes.

Really if a bunch of A Holes decide to blow up the planet its up to them. The rest of us are going to heaven anyway. We could care less.
