I assume you mean building a Hummer from scratch? Heck no! Why pay $70K for something I can build myself for under $10K?? The welding is all done by AutomagRuss, who's a professional welder and Emag user. If your comment was about something else, disregard!

I mean both. I didn't know there was a hummer kit out there, and it looks pretty cool!

I beg to differ on the sporty motors for custom bikes. No, you won't get the ground shakin thump of a big inch monster but, if you keep your bike weight down, a nice tuned sporty will outrun most if not all stockers.
And forget cutting up a sportster for an engine and trans.
Grab an pre 2002 Buell X1 (they go cheap) that'll set you up with a 101 bhp engine, a nice set of forks, and decent width rims.
I've also seen compaines that make softail frames designed for the sporty engine.
I'd say 7k investment (2k chassis, 5k X1) could get you on the road.
Ride it for a year, sell it, start the next project
        (Thats how it works )

        Edit: AH HA!

Thanks for the info big. the only reason I though about it was cause father torque sugjested it. Since I'm not into the whole racing thing, what I'm really looking for is the thundering big motors and saving some $$ but big motors are expensive too. The project is still a ways out, maybe this winter... who knows
