I have a Probe GT. It has the same engine as the mx-5. they do handle well and has decent power. And the last time I checked, well under $10k. With the money left over you could do the JDM KLZE motor swap.

As far as the 66 or 67 Nova mildly built, still under $10k. That's still my pick.

Tahoes are really really nice, and 4 runners look really nice. I think that if you want performance then get the Tahoe.

Plus its an american car, and you need to support the american economy. your a texan, i know you've got pride in your country. (comes third on my list Texas, South, US) so support our economy:

I would go for an old MKIII Supra Turbo.

With the right upgrades you could dip into high 13's, with some work done you could be running mid 12's. Obviously with extensive work done you could be running low to mid 11's if not 10's.

You can't get a Type R for 10 grand, considering an ITR is only offered in japan and you would have to import it and make it pass all the regulations...

i wouldn't go the honda ricer way like he's suggesting, when infact i drive a honda myself

If you can do engine work yourself or get it done cheaply, which i'm assuming you can't...get an nissan 240sx and swap in sr20 engine.

If you can't do the work and want a quick car, get like a '94-?? trans am or z28 camaro.

the 3000GT and Dodge Stealth are the same car, just a fyi.

The Stealth Turbo and 3000GT VR4...both the top of the line cars are decent. They're characterized by weak trannies and some other problems but are a decent car. If you want reliable i wouldn't go for one tho

They're the ones who import foreign cars and make them pass the safety requirements here in the US...there's basically no other way to import a foreign car legally, you would have to cut it in half and ship it in two different containers to do that. Moral of the story is its like 50-80k after all the work has been done to it. Not cheap, thats why no one gets skylines...if they were 25k people would be buying them hand over fist over the WRX and evo 8

ok, its not a good idea to spend a tiny bit of money on the car and put more into modifications.

You're gunna end up with a crap wagon that can *maybe* go fast for about a year and then just crap out completely. You'll be buying replacement parts for the ones that break all over the place.

spend the money on a car. I wouldn't reccomend getting a sports car, your parents first of all probably wouldn't let you, and second of all, insurance for a 16 year old kid is absolutely horrible for a sports car. I have a pickup truck, with a six cylinder engine and airbag, have a clean driving record, and pay $300 a month for the damn thing.

Having a sports car as your only vehicle isn't such a great idea.

My truck is louder than yours. A lot louder.

You can never go wrong with a cadillac... to answer an earlier question, a GTP is a grand am, or grand prix, I can never tell them apart. But they are HELLA FAST!!! Or for 10,000 you can buy a probe GT, swap out the stock v6 and throw a j-spec in there, drop a turbo, nos, trick suspension and you'll be set. $10,000 can do a lot to a car.

Thats a bottom of the line r32. they're not that wonderful to begin with but when you start getting the base model, in the lowest model they go its pointless.
