    Star Wars Galaxies

    I posted awhile back discouraging someone from buying this game from my experience with the Beta. Last weekend a friend suggested I get it and play with him. Since he's on the other side of the state, i figured heck I'll give it another shot.

    WOW!!! They fixed all my major complaints. I must say SOE took the Beta feedback more seriously than I thought. There are still some lag issues, but what MMORPG doesnt have them. So if you're looking for some realistic Star Wars or just a fun MMORPG give it a shot.

    In Conclusion my review of this game has changed from major thumbs down to a definite thumbs up.

      Still buggy as heck. Still has server instability and down time.

          its buggy but just about any game is and it just came out. things i dont like is things teleporting all over the place and broken missions(ive gotten 50+ out of about 300 so far and i have had 6 bounty hunters come at me so far because of it! o well im going to be a bounty hunter soon so i shouldnt complain)

          i wish they didnt fix the giant people bug that was awesome. what it was is that an image designer could chnage height so you have midgits and people taller then buildings lol)

              I want a MMOG so bad but dude theres no way in hell im paying 13 bucks or 20 bucks or how ever much it is a month just to play a game online thats retarded and I cant believe people acutally do that. Same thing with Xbox Live.

                  I've been playing MMOs since ultima online first came out. So for me its become a monthly bill just like the cable tv.

                      they pay it because people have to pay for these servers to maintain them and to patch the game etc. my mom pays for mine because as long as i play it she thinks its worth it so she doesnt mind.

                          Im puzzled by this comment, I just played for about 24 hours straight (yeah I know, addict) and there was no server problems. Server did go down for a restart once in 24 hours. If thats not the case with your server, I'd be switching. What major bugs still exist? There are some mission problems, but if you wait long enough they'll spawn. There are some balance issues, but I dont consider those bugs.

                              You sir have the luck of being on a stable server.

                              About half of the servers have had major problems over the first month. I'm on bloodfin, its been up then down then loading, then stuck connecting to galaxy, then locked, then loading. ect ect ect. I've been unable to play atleast 50% of the time during the first month.

                                  this games PVP is broken though, i can kill most people in 1 shot, and pistols are the best ranged weapon as i can have a 1.2 delay scout pistol and hit for 5-600 every time.

                                  oh well, it's still addicting

                                  and my server lags.......but doesn't have down time, just lags at peek times.
