plus i think poolshark already knows like all their songs.
Congratulations, you know nothing about AFI, now be quiet before you make yourself look like more of a fool.

Espo, you were wrong about them starting out as a misfits coverband. Although, I'd have to say that some of their best songs ARE misfits covers.
However, he was pretty much right on with the rest. Their sound "evolved" from what was once amazing hardcore punk to what it is now...slighty "charged" (if you will) emo/radio friendly crap. It's still, at least to me, 19289809182309832x better than the stuff thats coming out nowadays, but it's not punk and it's not what AFI once was.

Anyway, the reason I started this thread was to get good songs from the listed bands, so lets keep this calm and flame free.

Hay EsPo, if you want to argue this further, go ahead and make another thread. Just be prepared to lose.

My one fault on what they started out as shows that I know nothing about them? You posting that just shows your immature, and can't take other peoples opinion on music you like. You can go ahead and try to make me look like 'more of a fool' but frankly.. i dont give 2 shats.. cause I've taken more crap than most people will take in their entire lives.. and your petty insults will do nothing but fuel my ego even more....

            so go ahead

            flame away....

            I like it.

and oh yeah.. AFI's new album sucks worse than any of george micheal's......ok maybe not that bad.

I caught about 2 seconds of that song thats always on mtv by afi.. my dad was watching it.. what a pitiful video for people who could do so much better.

shik- I'll agree with you on the 'new afi is better than GC and whatnot' idea.. but they both suck major bad....i'll have you know i'm not flaming.... I just figured.. most people on AO hate me.. why not finish off the group

also.. i think its 'hey' not 'hay'

Just curious, but when exactly do you think they "sold out"? They haven't been a hardcore/punk band for a few years now (since around 98 or 99). Just because they gradually evolved into a new type of music doesn't mean they sold out. And just for the record, I'm not really a fan of Sing the Sorrow. I find out of all of my AFI CDs, it rarely ever gets played (just doesn't sit well with me). The only thing they really improved on was the lyrics, which are simply incredible compared to pretty much every other band I've ever seen on MTV/Fuse (just wish Dreamworks hadn't produced the CD to Hell and ruined it). I'm mostly into the Black Sails era as far as AFI goes, but it's fun to listen to some of their older stuff too.

AFI isn't punk. But they're not bad either.

Lower Class Brats is some good stuff...The Virus, Exploited is great of course, theres so much punk that I won't begin to list names, but nobody really knows about it these days. Punk won't ever be big. But for petes sake, leave the word punk for the real punks, the junkies and the anarchists and the guys who really just don't care. The guys who have love for the music, the way it makes you feel and the unity that comes from your friends that are the same. Such as me.

But punk is just the way you think about things. You don't have to look like a punk to be one. As is being a skinhead, which both are the same in their own ways yet different.

I can't think of anything else to think of, but I'm sure somebody will bring something up...

                oi!

                  Its not supposed to be

Isn't the point of punk supposed to be non mainstream.. so yeah.

Lower class brats just played a show about 1 mile from my house last night. I didnt go .. mainly because I hate just about everybody who lives in my town.. and all the hardcore kids hang out and fight at the place they played.. not to into the fighting (seeing as i'm 5"5').
