Identity Crisis had much more of a punk edge than any of their other cds, except maybe their first release, which was pretty much straight up punk rock...and is amazing for the band only being together for a few months. Thats what I liked about Thrice, they had the punk rock edge, but did it with so much more clarity, intelligence, and definition than any pop punk. Illusion of Safety catapulted them into a new league. It still kept a good punk feeling. The newest album is good...I was slightly dissappointed that almost every trace of their punk rock roots is gone. Now they take so much more influence from metal. Still though, its great, much much talent...and makes me have little tolerance from other bands that just want recognition but aren't willing to provide the good musicmanship that Thrice has.
