I'll start with one that I like ...
Tip #1 -- Color within black and white.
This will allow you to have parts of a black and white picture in full color. Pretty cool effect which can be used to really bring out the focus of a picture.
1 -- Start with a full color copy of your picture.
2 -- Create a new channel mixer layer.
a. Select Layer => New Adjustment Layer => Channel Mixer.
b. Name it select okay.
c. In the color balancing screen that pops up, click monochrome and select okay.
d. Now using your favorite selection tool, select the items you want to be in color.
c. Select Edit => Cut, and the original color will now show through.
e. Once you have all the cuts you need, flatten the layers.
This will create the following effect (picture below)
