    Nintendo Help

Hey guys. I pulled my nintendo NES out today and decided to make some minor cosmetic adjustments. I removed it from the case and thats as far as I got. Its a side loader NES. Well when i went to play Heavy Shreadin' it wouldnt work at all. I know its almost 15 years old but i had it working just the other day. anyway I desperate to play Snakes Revenge so I need some tips or ways you might have coarsed your nintendo into working. I think the NES is the only tempermental system. Also I plan to put it inside a brief case and make the slot right under the handel and make the combo lock the on/off/reset.

Sounds like you just need a new 144 pin (I think) connector. They're like 5 bucks. Search on ebay.

either that or just swear under your breath and blow on it.
It's HERE! Play at Shooter's Casino!!!!!! It'll be fun........

You have to sweet talk it. Tell her (the NES) how much you love her and how you would like to play with her. Slide the game in gently and ask the NES nicely to play your game.

*Caution* Don't do this while your Girlfriend is around :)

Hmm, well ill tell you how i got the old nintendo working at my friends house...as long as you promise not to laugh. I took poker chips and lodged them in the slot next to the game. Keep in mind that this is on a regular nintendo so it may or may not work with yours. As hard as it is to get it perfect it is totaly worth it so tahr i can play techmo super bowl and ninja turtles again!

Or use a que tip and metal cleaner on the 144pin connector and it should work again.

Damnit, I Was beat to the new connector idea...you CAN jimmy it to work by wiggling and adjusting the cartridge just right...tis what I did.

Thats exactly what mine did. you have two choices

A: Bust out 5 bucks and get a new pin connector
B: go the cheaper rought (sp?) and do what I said to do in my previous post.

I've found a few solutions that work, especially if you use them at the same time.

                  - First, blow the dust out of everything

                  - When you put the cartridge in and push it down so it clicks, it comes back up a little bit. I shove mine down all the way, then jam it in there with some random object (leatherman cases work well).

                  - If this doesnt work, random beatings usually solve the problem. (I find that this solution works in many situations.) For the NES, begin by gently hitting the top of it with the heel of your palm. Increase the strength with each blow. Then, press the on/off button repeatedly, and try holding the reset button for a while, then press the on/off button again. If it still does not work, push the button to 'ON' and then grab the unit in one hand and while holding it sideways in the air, Beat it with the other. If it still doesnt work, it probably needs some new parts.
                  - There's no replacement for displacement.

"It's not peer pressure, it's just your turn."

I just used to bang on it if it didn't work. That usually solved the problem. Or blowing inside the game catridge helps too. But I find it's fun to pound the NES system to let it know whose boss.

                            .

when i hade NES, i used to clean it all out with q-tips and i think rubbing alcohol..not sure about that so dont hold me to it as im not responsible for anything that happens to ur console :)..oh and Excitebike...one of the best.. :)
