Ever date someone of a different religon?

Would dating a girl (or a guy for that matter) who is a different religon be a problem? I like this girl but she's Morrocian (from Morrocco) and I'm pretty sure she's Muslim. I'm a Christian. We get along fine at work and even discuss each other's religon. Neither one of us trys to "convert" the other, though. She is somewhat westernized (been here a few years; doesn't wear those shaws(sp?))

My question is: is this just one of those doors I just shouldn't open up or even knock on? Anyone have experience with this?

PS: Please don't turn this into a religon/anti-religon discussion. Thank You.

I'd say go for it, maybe love could conquer all...

I've never had any expierence with dating someone of a different religon. Mom did, infact she dated a muslim. Seemed to work OK, but they did not marry.

By the way, when I was in Kuwait, I noticed that the women out there had the MOST amazing eyes.

I'm currently dating a girl that is a Presbyterian (SP) and I choose not to belong to any religion and were getting along great. Just be open minded of the other person's beliefs. Don't ever argue about religion though. That is when these types of things go bad.

My girlfriend IS muslim, and very westernized. I myself was baptised a Presbyterian, but now walk the path of the agnostic. It is a shame that christianity, judaism, and islam are just different enough to generate hate.

My first girlfriend was Jewish. I'm Christian. I went to her Batmitzva (sp). It was cool. Great party.

I also dated a Quaker. She was the first girl I kissed

I've dated several girls of various faiths. It's definatly not something you want to start a debate over. but something you should both share to expand your knowledge.

Just be open to understanding that no one religion is better than the other, and no single religion is right vs. another. its the whole common belief in a higher purpose that makes it special.

The only advise I could give you in a situation like that is be very careful how you approach the topic of religion. With some people (this would include myself) have very strong - set in stone beliefs and if you disagree in the slightest way that could be TAKEN offensive can lead not only to a break up but an ended friendship as well.

I am a good example of what not to do. One of my very good guy friends was an athiest, and as just friends we would discuss religion and have fun civil discussions. We started dating and those fun civil discussions turned into heated arguments and fights.

Just be careful, I lost a very good friend because of dating someone who believed differently than I did. Your walking on eggshells, be careful not to break any!

If you don't care, then as long as neither her or parents are fundamentalists, then there shouldn't be any problems.

People who let religion get in the way of love should go to hell.

                    Really mature

Find out some religions say about inter-religious marriges.
Now that's something that's NOT compleatly obvious

If you don't make it a problem it wont be one. Dont foce your religion on her and try and tell her nicely that you like your religion if she try's to force her's on you. Keep in mind that dragging her to all your christmas party's could fall into this catagory.

Your Sig is offensive! Consider this a warning!

well..my girlfriend's father was born and raised in egypt...his own cultural/religious desires tell him that dating at all for "his little girl" is a bad thing. hence, i'm dating her w/ full hatred from her parents...*sigh*. keep that in mind, it can be an unneeded burden.

Yeah I dated a girl who was a different religion than me. But after reading the book of Deuteronomy in the Bible, I realized I had to stone her to death.
