I just got back from BTOP, basic training orientation program. It's basically a weekend of a bunch of Sgts and Corporals/ Specialists yelling at you, having you do push ups and flutterkicks, and teaching you the basics of drill and ceremony. Overall, it was pretty hellish but there were some high points. We had a copmetition to see who had the fastest M16 disassemble/ reassemble time. I had the best overall platoon time with 1 min. 5 seconds. This was out of 38 soldiers. I also placed 4th in the 2 mile run, pretty good for not doing anything all summer. The first night I was wondering what I had gotten myself into by enlisting, but it's definitely worth it. Well, i'm off to ice my arms and shoulders and get a massage from somewhere. HOOAAH!
